Outcrop is the formal magazine produced by the WSGS for society members twice yearly. Currently printed in A5 format combining all things Geological and Earth Sciences.
It combines articles, wittiscisms, musings submitted not only by committee members, but also by general society members, whose article inclusion is actively encouraged.
The magazine also contains synopses of recent lecture meetings, variously written up by society members.
Most field trip outings are also reported in "Outcrop", including the weekend field trips that have included Dorset in 2019, the Isle of Wight in 2022 and the Brecon Beacons in 2023, (previous field trips have been to Derbyshire, Shropshire, Forest of Dean, Dartmoor, Anglesey, Yorkshire, Cornwall and Guernsey).
The magazine is available to all society members either in printed A5 format and can be picked up at society meetings, or digitally in pdf format. It is free of charge to members as part of the annual membership fee.
Back copies of Outcrop are only available digitally, for download, here on the Membership Page. It should be noted that membership sign-in will be required to download any previous copy, though there is no charge for this.
